The people you meet:

Not everyone you meet on your path is going to help. Some will travel with you for a time and then move on. This group is about community, but our writers know most relationships are temporary. Marcus Aurelius, a Roman Emporer whose journal has become a seminal document of Stoicism wrote, “When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly.” We can’t say he’s wrong but what we can say is, despite all of that we want to help our fellow artists find those that light the place up. Find collaborators that make your light brighter, not because of the darkness they bring by contrast, but by the kindling they help you throw on the fire. That’s what we’re here for.
